chapter 3

Chapter 3
Before we go on to the hunt for the shadows from John’s dream, let’s look at some people who have been changed by John. First we look at the warden. Before he met John he lived in a very harsh environment growing up. His father was Military man with the mind of a Spartan general. He tried to train the warden like a drill sergeant and want his son to become the perfect solider. The warden’s childhood was very hard because of this; his father would beat him and teach him many styles of fighting. With this the warden didn’t have many friends, he didn’t have time for school, the only thing he had to do in life was to become a soldier and protect his country. When the warden reached 16 he had sort of a midlife crisis if you were to say. He went mad and killed his father during a training exercise on training one’s mind. During this snap he killed his mother as well thinking that she was one of his father’s “old war buddies that was there to help with training the boy”. After he snapped back child services took care of him and put him into foster care. Nothing happened after that, except he met a girl, got married, had kids, and got a job working at a jail. He became quite known at the jailhouse for being able to take down inmates twice his size. For being able to foil any plan conjured up by the cleverest of thieves there. Soon he started to get promoted to the warden of the prison him and his family were living life quite easily, however until John made a visit to the prison. John was the first and only prisoner that had ever gotten away from the warden, so to get back at him he wanted to prove that this man wasn’t insane, that he was just putting up an act to try and get out of there. He had made a request to see him before he left so he could launch his trap on him. However right when John entered the warden felt a chill go down his spine, he felt as if the devil was in the room with him. When John took a seat the warden looked him straight into his eyes and saw nothing. John’s Eyes reminded him of a dolls eyes; dead soulless devoid of life. Right at the moment the warden had looked at John’s eyes, John had sprung his trap. For you see John knew that the warden had found out about him so he wanted to play a game with him. The two soon teleported to a world of darkness, a world devoid of life with only floating rocks there. “Listen up Warden we are going to play a game” said John, “if you win I stay, if I win you become my new pet understand”. The warden shook his head in acknowledgement. Right with that head movement a shadow came out of him a sort of clone of the warden, but this one was all black and white except for his eyes they were blood red. “The game is has one rule protect this ball from him then you win understand” said John. John pulled a gun out and fired in the air, with that the clone charged the warden and tired to get the ball. The warden grabbed the clone’s leg and threw him very far away. This made John give out a small smirk, soon the ball was in the warden’s hands. “You have one hour to keep it safe and about 10 minutes have passed and your clone is coming back awfully fast I suggest hiding it”. The warden tried to hide the ball but there was nowhere to hide to hide it so he put it behind him and put his fists up as if to say to the clone and john “come and get it”. The clone charged him and then matched his fighting stance, this surprised the warden and then the fight began. The warden sent out a massive punch that would knock out anyone but the clone was able to side step it with ease as if the warden was doing it in slow motion. Now it was the clone’s turn to strike he side kick the warden and it made him hit the ground hard. The warden had never fought someone as powerful as him he knew that this was going to be a hard battle but he knew had to win at any cost. The clone was almost at the ball when the warden grabbed his leg again but this time the clone knew better. With his other leg he kicked the warden in the face, breaking the warden’s nose in the process. The warden was in great amounts of pain after this blow, but he sucked it up and got back up on his feet. Right when he was on his feet again he tried to fight the clone again. However something was different for every blow he sent the clone would either block it, use the same kind of technique to cancel it out, or just dodge it. It was as if the warden didn’t have a chance in hell of winning this fight. But the warden couldn’t admit to himself about losing he had too much at stake if he lost that meant what he took the most pride in was about just dwindle away to nothingness. The warden through a punch and the clone sidestepped him and grabbed his arm and threw him onto the ball and popped it. John gave out a dark laugh and screamed out “AWWWW DIDN’T THE WARDEN LOSE I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE BEST AT CATCHING CRIMINALS WELL I GUESS NOT YOU FAILED AT IT AND NOW WHAT YOU PRIDE YOURSELF IN IS NOW NOTHING”. Now in real life the warden is back in his body but something is different on his left eye its red with a black pupil. This was a sign that he now belonged to John.
